Dynamic director Shankar is planning to come up with a sequel to the sensational superhit of 1996, Bharateeyudu. This time, sources say that the story will revolve around Anna Hazare’s struggle against corruption.Bharateeyudu was a landmark film in Indian Cinema for the advanced makeup and filming techniques used at that time. It was a smash hit in Tamil, Telugu as well as Hindi. A.R.Rahman’s tunes topped the charts for a long time.
Reports are indicating that erstwhile star producer A,M.Rathnam is making a comeback into the movie business as the producer of this film.Sources say that Shankar is trying to rope in Tamil star Ajith for the lead role. Earlier reports suggested that Shankar approached Amitabh Bachchan for portraying Anna Hazare’s character.
This surely is terrific news for film buffs as the combination is a very potent one. Let us hope Shankar comes up with a memorable sequel to the iconic Bharateeyudu.
