Dil Raju, who has hit the purple patch again after a lull is gearing up for his next release Oh My Friend. This film stars Siddharth, Shruti Haasan and Hansika in the main leads with Navadeep playing the supporting role. Siddharth and Shruti Haasan are playing close buddies in Oh My Friend and Hansika is doing the role of Sid's romantic interest.
Going by the concept and the lyrics in few songs, people get a feeling that this film is a rehash of Chiranjeevi's Iddaru Mitrulu. That film was directed by Raghavendra Rao and Sakshi Sivanand played the role of Chiru's friend in it. Iddaru Mitrulu didn't fare too well at the box office despite Chiranjeevi being in prime form at that time.
Iddaru Mitrulu received negative feedback due to the star cast as audience opined that younger star cast would have done justice to it. Dil Raju is a cautious producer who takes immense care to keep his successful record intact. So, we can't expect him to flirt with a flop. Hence, Oh My Friend should be different from Iddaru Mitrulu despite having some similarities in the plot.
