When it comes to trendsetting movies of Tollywood, the film 'Shiva' comes in the top. Many say that it has redefined an era of film making. The stardom it gave to Nagarjuna and director Ram Gopal Varma needs no introduction though. However, all these are the achievements of reel life. What was the situation in real life?
There are those who say that the impact of 'Shiva' was so strong that the once peaceful colleges and schools got into frenzy of violence and group fights. Instruments like cycle chain, knuckle duster, small rods became a fashion and there was a major turnaround in the type of fights that happened between people those days.
Of course, for a regular cine buff, 'Shiva' will always remain a masterpiece. But on the flip side, the film opened a new format to violence which has not stopped till today. Just like anyone says, it is always better to take the good from the cinema than the bad. What say folks?
