Dookudu is on a roll and continues to set new records in Andhra Pradesh, USA and other foreign countries. Now that the Telugu version has been termed as a blockbuster, several leading actors in Bollywood are vying for the remake rights. We had already reported that Mahesh Babu and the producers of Dookudu have given first preference to Salman Khan over other actors. He had flown to USA for his surgery and later flew to Dublin to take part in Ek Tha Tiger’s shooting. The latest buzz is that Srinu Vaitla is patiently waiting for Salman Khan’s (affectionately called as Bhai, in Bollywood) decision to make up his mind whether he would reprise Mahesh Babu’s role or not. Speaking to a leading newspaper, Srinu Vaitla confirmed that he’s going to direct the Hindi version as well; however, it’s too early to say who’ll play the lead role. Salman Khan is expected to return to Mumbai next week and Srinu Vaitla has made arrangements to screen the film to the star on October 12 and only then a decision is likely to be taken by Salman’s camp. Meanwhile, Srinu Vaitla’s next is with Jr.NTR and the shooting is expected to begin early next year. Going by the pace at which the films are being shot these days, the Hindi remake of Dookudu is likely to go on floors in late 2012.
