It is known MAA(Telugu Movie Artistes Assocation) issued notices against all top heroines after they failed to take membership in MAA.It is mandatory to enroll in MAA for acting in Telugu Film Industry.Even small scale artists who work for meager salaries enroll in MAA,by paying lakhs rupees. But our heroines, who draw crores of rupees, are reluctant on paying nominal enrollment fees.Furious MAA heads decided to whip all defaults with a ban.
MAA started the proceedings with a ban on actress Genelia. The actress’ latest Telugu film Naa Ishtam has been exempted, but she can’t be signed on by producers after this film. “She has been acting in Telugu films for last seven to eight years and was reluctant to take up the membership so we are forced to issue a non-co-operation notice against her,” says a member of the MAA. The actress who will be arriving in Hyderabad on Wednesday for her film can take up the membership by paying `1 lakh or her T-town dreams can come to end. Genelia was unavailable for comment.
Hope this acts as an eye opener to rest of the heroines, who thinks Tollywood is just a money machine.
