After comic capers like Ready and Don Seenu, B-town producers are vying for the remake rights of Telugu hit Anasuya, a spine-chilling story of a serial killer. In the film, actress Bhumika had essayed the role of an upright scribe who tracks down the social deviant in a nail-biting thriller.
Corporate honchos Reliance and Studio 18 have approached producer-director Ravi Babu and are likely to clinch the deal very soon. “Yes few honchos watched my film and are planning to cast a popular B-town heroine to reprise Bhumika’s role, but nothing is finalised yet” says the director, who is basking in the glory of Nuvvila presently.
Interestingly, Ravi Babu who played the role of the killer in the original film had even shaved off his eye lashes to look menacing. “They are finding it difficult to get the right B-town actor,” he adds. Given a choice, would he like to direct the Hindi version too? “Of course, but I am not desperate since I am comfortably placed in T-town,” he concludes.
